The parental company behind ICP-Analysis.com has mobilized to distribute hand sanitizer, which they are now producing and manufacturing in Denver, Colorado.
Starting this week, the parental company of ICP-Analysis.com has entered the hand sanitizer marketplace. These US-made bottles are available through the ICP-Analysis.com website.
ICP-Analysis.com is well known as a provider of ICP-OES water testing services for marine aquariums.
The sanitizer is “made up with a lotion base to moisturize the hands. The active ingredient is 65% denatured alcohol. We are the manufacturer in Denver, and it is not coming from China or anywhere else. We make the bottles and labels, and all ingredients are made in the USA.” A 12-oz. bottle sells for $10, and a 3-pack (36 oz) is $20, plus shipping.”
How is an aquarium-related cmpany like ICP-Analysis.com suddenly manufacturing hand sanitizer?
The answer lies with the background of the founder, Steve Visser, and the overarching businesses he owns, including his ICP-OES aquarium water testing company.
“For 25 years I have been a formulation chemist,” wrote Visser. “I formulate and manufacture household cleaners and personal care products and then private label them for other companies. Over the years it led me to manufacture my own bottles and print my own digital labels so I could better control the manufacturing process. All of our ingredients come from chemical distributors. I just happen to stock everything needed for hand sanitizer.”

Visser continued, explaining how he saw a need and pivoted to fill it. “When this Coronavirus hit and my core business sales dropped, I had to do something to keep my employees with a paycheck. We made hand sanitizer for a customer early this week that they could use for their employees and customers; I decided this was an opportunity to keep us employed and help the at-risk people, particularly in retirement homes. Today is the first day of selling, and it is going very well. We are being received with open arms and a lot of gratitude because we are selling in bulk for $96 for a case of 24 bottles, and each bottle is 12 ounces.”
You can still get your water tested
Of course, while Visser is busily manufacturing hand sanitizer in 200-gallon batches at a time, ICP-Analysis.com continues to offer its ICP-OES water testing services. “People are still sending samples and we are still processing them on a regular basis,” said Visser.
