A Special Video Supplement for our July/August 2017 issue of AMAZONAS Magazine

videos by John Lambert

We’re delighted to bring you a special online bonus to our recent story, “Breeding a glorious eartheater: Geophagus mirabilis ‘Aripuana,'” by John Lambert. While capturing his photo series to document the reproductive behaviors of this species, Lambert also had the foresight to leave a video camera running.

The result? Many of the behaviors described in our print article can now be witnessed firsthand through online footage. Lambert has completely documented the captive reproduction of this species in the aquarium, from pre-spawn through free-swimming fry.

We hope you enjoy the extra effort Lambert put in; let us know what you think in the comments section below!
